  • African American Genealogy: Methodology and Strategies for Researching African American Ancestors

    Largo Public Library

While Genealogy Standards have universal application, there are strategies that are particularly useful for researching African American ancestors with roots in the antebellum period because they present unique challenges. This program will provide an overview of “best practices” for achieving credible results, by providing a conceptual foundation for tackling genealogical issues in any of the historical slave states. This will be a hybrid meeting held in-person in the Meeting Room/Jenkins B and online via Zoom. Registration is only required for Zoom attendees.
